Amazon’s sustainability website introduces dynamic new experience to highlight global progress.

Amazon is a global company with more than 1.5 million full- and part-time employees worldwide and operations in Africa, Asia Pacific, Europe, Latin America, the Middle East, and North America. The company’s sustainability website—where you're reading this—reflects holistic progress toward its sustainability goals. Now, through a new dynamic feature, readers can visualize Amazon’s sustainability progress, performance, and initiatives by geographic region.

Check out the Global Action page to explore how Amazon is innovating to build a more sustainable business everywhere it serves customers.

Africa and the Middle East: Amazon was the first corporation to enable utility-scale renewable energy projects in South Africa.

Latin America: an artificial intelligence solution built on AWS will soon calculate water consumption, monitor soil quality, and provide irrigation recommendations through intelligent monitoring for participating farmers who rely on Brazil’s Tiete River.

Asia Pacific: from protecting Mumbai’s Flamingo sanctuary to doubling our renewable energy capacity in Japan, Amazon is invested in sustainability in Asia Pacific.

Europe: Amazon has committed €1 billion to decarbonize and electrify its transportation network in Europe, and in 2025, we announced our largest order of zero-tailpipe-emission heavy goods vehicles.

North America: In 2024, 134 million single-use plastic bags were avoided from automated packaging machines across fulfillment centers in North America.
