  • The 2026 programme is looking for proven solutions across the major levers of building decarbonisation, particularly advanced energy storage, high-efficiency renewable generation with small footprints, high-performance HVAC and building envelope technologies, AI-powered energy management platforms (including digital twins, integrated control across solar, storage, HVAC, and lighting, and real-time monitoring and analytics), grid-interactive buildings that function as virtual power plants through demand response, and Data Center microgrid architecture for new builds. Solutions should be ready to deploy at scale across a diverse European building portfolio. The areas above are where the strongest fit is expected, but adjacent technologies that hit the same goal are welcome to apply.
  • The 2026 programme is looking for start-ups and scale-ups with novel water solutions for use both inside Amazon's facilities and in the wider regions where Amazon operates. Within operations, the focus is on low- and no-flow fixture solutions deployable at scale, water circularity systems that capture and reuse rainwater and greywater, and emerging technologies that change the economics of water management on-site. Beyond Amazon's walls, the focus is on replenishment and community partnership solutions that help utilities reduce water loss, protect source watersheds, and enable recycled water distribution. The areas above are where the strongest fit is expected, but adjacent technologies that hit the same goal are welcome to apply.
  • The 2026 programme is looking for companies with cost-effective technology that can monitor ecological performance across diverse site types, identify habitats requiring intervention, and track performance against commitments, particularly across automated habitat condition assessment, predictive analytics and early warning systems, soil health and carbon monitoring, species and biodiversity monitoring, and water and air quality. The areas above are where the strongest fit is expected, but adjacent technologies that hit the same goal are welcome to apply.

HTMS participated in the Amazon Sustainability Accelerator Program (ASA) for the Spring 2024 session. In the ASA program, HTMS was constantly challenged to provide the technical workings of its product, the energy savings/carbon reduction benefits and as importantly the economic payback for a buyer. Unlike other accelerator programs, Amazon provided pitch coaching, expert technical consultation and useful commercial feedback. Ultimately HTMS was successful in piloting its product with Amazon.

“It took less than nine months from program registration to commercial deployment. That’s warp speed for the piloting of new technology in critical infrastructure. The ASA program provided our company with the benefits of  commercial success, access and feedback from technical and business experts and most importantly the confidence to continue our mission.”

"ASA is the most efficient and outcome-driven accelerator we’ve experienced—real collaboration with Amazon from day one.

Participating in the Amazon Sustainability Accelerator was an exceptionally valuable experience. The program was highly structured and efficient, with both virtual and in-person sessions designed to maximize outcomes—there was no wasted time, and every interaction was hands-on and collaborative. What stood out most was the level of access to Amazon’s teams, giving us a rare opportunity to understand their internal culture, operational priorities, and real-world challenges. Site visits to warehouses and delivery centres provided important context and helped translate ideas into practical applications. Compared to other accelerators, ASA stands out for its ability to create real momentum—by the end of the program, clear next steps were already in place. The transparency, engagement, and genuine commitment to sustainability made it clear that Amazon is serious about implementing impactful solutions."

"Cartesian was one of just 11 companies selected for the Amazon Sustainability Accelerator 2025. Within months, we are delivering three thermal energy storage installations across three countries, helping Amazon's fulfillment centres significantly cut energy costs and CO₂ emissions.

What set ASA apart was the caliber of people involved. Their goal is to deploy innovative technology into real operations to solve real sustainability challenges, not just to scout promising startups. That changes everything about how the programme feels.

ASA is one of the most complete accelerators we've experienced: from pitching and site visits to deep-dive into Amazon's internal processes and leaderships principles that makes this company so successful. The goal isn't just for participants to grow, it's for the outcomes to matter to Amazon's own business, too.

Amazon didn't just open doors. They opened their playbook. And once we understood how they think and operate, we moved fast together: three Cartesian installations, three countries, measurable impact. Proof that thermal energy storage isn't just a sustainability promise. It's a scalable, commercial reality."

"Participating in and winning the Amazon Sustainability Accelerator was a step change for us at Unbound Potential. We didn’t just sit in workshops, we got direct access to Amazon experts across operations, sustainability, and product, which helped us pressure test our technology and value proposition in a real-world context. Visiting fulfilment centres in London and Madrid was a game changer. Seeing the scale and complexity from the inside sharpened our thinking on where we can deliver the most impact within Amazon. What stood out most was the exposure to senior leadership, including VPs, who positively engaged with our work. We are currently in planning phase for our pilot with Amazon, where we will showcase to the world what Unbound Potential batteries are capable of. Compared to other accelerators, ASA is uniquely execution focused. It’s not theory, its real problems, real feedback, and real pathways to pilot."

"Amazon's Sustainability Accelerator gave us what many programs say that they will; but where ASA actually delivers—hands on time with experts in the business who really learn your product and give you proper time to work with those experts. In too many programs, founders feel like the time was not well enough spent, but in ASA we got to pitch to the right people and to craft a pilot together with clear information about what we needed to do at each step to make it go ahead. We're super happy to be able to say that we are working together with Amazon."

"The Amazon Sustainability Accelerator gave us something most programmes don't: direct access to the people inside Amazon who actually make decisions. For an impact-driven deep-tech hardware startup like Solaq, that's the difference between a good conversation and a real deployment pathway. The workshops were sharp, the expert access was genuine, and the programme rapidly built our understanding of how a major corporate thinks about water, procurement, and ESG, including the internal KPIs and metrics needed to build and validate a credible business case. That rigour translated directly into a contracted pilot at an Amazon fulfilment centre in Spain. The frameworks and decision-making logic we learned are replicable across industries and verticals. What excites us most is what comes next: a successful pilot creates a blueprint that can scale across Amazon's water-stressed operations worldwide, building a sustainable and scalable source of water security that contributes directly to Amazon's Water Positive by 2030 framework. ASA didn't just validate our technology, it opened a path to real, measurable impact at scale.

Our mission is to build sustainable, scalable water security for the people and organisations that need it most. ASA gave us the corporate framework, the relationships, and the deployment pathway to start doing that at real scale."

"ASA is one of the most execution-focused accelerators we’ve participated in, driving real-world implementation from the outset.

Participating in the Amazon Sustainability Accelerator has been a highly valuable experience for Vuala. The programme is extremely well-structured, combining virtual and in-person sessions that are clearly designed to deliver tangible outcomes. Every interaction felt purposeful, with a strong emphasis on collaboration and problem-solving rather than theory.

What stood out most was the level of access to Amazon’s internal teams and operations. Engaging directly with their experts and visiting fulfilment centres provided critical insights into real operational challenges, allowing us to refine our technology for practical deployment at scale. This hands-on exposure is something that sets ASA apart from other accelerators.

The programme has created genuine momentum for us. As a direct result, we are now implementing our technology and operations at Amazon's London-based fulfilment centre over the coming year. We are excited to continue working closely with Amazon to scale our solution and drive meaningful impact in waste reduction and sustainability.

ASA demonstrates a clear commitment to turning innovation into action, and we are proud to be part of that journey."
