We invent, develop, and deliver products and services in a responsible way, which also helps our customers on their sustainability journeys. We’re working to make Amazon products more sustainable, from how we build them, to how we package them, to how customers use them.
For the third-party items we offer that have achieved certification from trusted external sustainability certifiers, we’ve created the Climate Pledge Friendly program to help customers in the U.S. and Europe more easily discover and shop for more-sustainable products. We’re making our AWS cloud infrastructure more energy efficient to help our customers meet their sustainability goals, while providing them with the cloud-based tools they need to manage their own impacts.

While shopping on Amazon, customers can find the Climate Pledge Friendly label on eligible products, making it easier to discover and shop for more-sustainable products. To identify these products, we partner with a wide range of trusted and transparent external certifications.
Climate Pledge Friendly also highlights products designed for circularity. Customers can choose from 20,000 refurbished products through Pre-owned Certified, a new certification created by Amazon recognizing products that are inspected, cleaned, and repaired to excellent functional standards. Pre-owned Certified aims to extend the life of products, reducing electronic waste and raw material extraction.
Amazon Aware helps customers in the U.S., Canada, and Europe shop for products that include materials such as recycled polyester, organic cotton, and bio-based ingredients. Amazon Aware features products across apparel, home, beauty, and other categories.

This includes designing our devices with carbon reduction in mind and manufacturing them using responsibly sourced materials. It also involves confirming the sustainable credentials of our devices with trusted third-party certifications, and making our packaging more sustainable.
